Position: Health Information Services Technician
Pay Rate: $31.73/hr
Duration: 26 weeks
Expected Shift: Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm

Position Summary

The Electronic Imaging Technician I supports Radiology operations by managing, retrieving, filing, and distributing imaging records and x-ray film files. This role ensures accurate, timely handling of both digital and hardcopy patient imaging records to maintain workflow efficiency and support radiologists and clinical staff. This is a non-patient-facing, clerical support position within the imaging department.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve and maintain x-ray film files for all imaging patients.
• Update file movement and tracking in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Incorporate new films and reports into existing files per departmental procedures.
• Create new imaging film files as needed.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of imaging records using proper numeric and color-coded filing systems.
• Pull and log files requested by physicians, affiliated facilities, and hospital personnel.
• Ensure all record requests are processed according to departmental policies.
• Communicate status updates to requesting parties regarding imaging record retrieval.
• Deliver film files to internal hospital departments and technologist areas.
• Prepare and place films for viewing when required.
• Assist in maintaining efficient workflow within the radiology film library and imaging records area.
  
   

• Prior experience in medical records, health information management, or radiology department support preferred.
• Experience working in film library or imaging records environment strongly preferred.
