Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Principal Engineering Technician position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will provide advanced technical expertise supporting engineering teams in the design, development, modification, and improvement of complex systems, equipment, tools, and processes. To be considered, you will have an Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Position: Principal Engineering Technician
Contract: 12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $50.71/ hour
Schedule: First / Second Shift
In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Provide advanced technical support for engineering teams involved in the design, development, modification, and improvement of equipment, tools, processes, and products
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor to junior and newly hired technicians, providing guidance and subject-matter expertise
- Perform complex technical tasks using specialized instrumentation, testing tools, and software applications
- Analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions using engineering principles and methodologies
- Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of technical documentation, procedures, and reports
- Assist engineering teams in improving manufacturing processes, product reliability, and operational efficiency
- Interpret and apply engineering specifications, standards, requirements, and technical documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to enhance processes and systems
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities:
- Ability to contribute to the development of technical concepts and methodologies in creative and effective ways
- Experience generating technical documentation and performing spreadsheet-based data analysis
- Ability to develop test software and create complex block diagrams
- Strong capability in interpreting and applying complex specifications, requirements, contracts, policies, and engineering standards
- Experience working with complex instrumentation and engineering tools
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to mentor and guide junior technicians
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate in technical environments
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
