Job Duties
- Own the complete lifecycle of mechanical hardware, from concept through delivery.
- Perform structural, thermal, and environmental analyses to ensure survival through launch and on-orbit conditions.
- Lead CAD modeling, simulations, and FEA analysis (SolidWorks preferred).
- Rapidly prototype and iterate designs in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with RF engineers to support packaging and integration of microwave assemblies.
- Partner with PCB designers to address layout, vibration, and thermal requirements of complex PCAs.
- Support qualification testing and ensure compliance with aerospace and industry standards.
- Provide clear documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
- 5 years of mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis experience.
- Strong CAD and FEA background (SolidWorks preferred).
- Proficient in GD&T principles.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in aerospace, preferably with electronics or microwave packaging for space applications.
- Familiarity with CNC machining and other precision, low-volume manufacturing methods.
- Experience owning designs from concept through qualification and production.
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping and iteration.
- Experience with microwave assemblies or high-frequency electronics packaging.
- Prior work with PCA design and integration (thermal management, vibration mitigation, mechanical packaging).
- Ability to own product designs end-to-end in a fast-paced team environment.
