Job Description: Day Shift Maintenance
Employment Status: Full-time
Purpose and Objective of Position:
- To maintain equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance.
- To perform equipment repairs in emergency and planned situations.
- To lend support to Shift Maintenance when needed.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Each Day Shift Maintenance Employee will be assigned a particular area of which He is responsible for Preventive and Predictive Maintenance. These areas will change periodically to make sure each is familiar with different areas of the plant. If things are well in your area, work with others in their area.
- Must be on call periodically. Must be able to lead and assist the Shift Maintenance Employee when called in. Note: you will be assisting shift maintenance. You are not required to come in and do the maintenance work for the shift maintenance with one exception: you and the shift maintenance man agree that it is best for the plant to split up responsibilities in the interest of production. You must however be aware and mindful of the fact that shift maintenance are on 12 hour shifts and may not be as energetic at the end of their shift.
- Must fill in for Shift Maintenance when needed.
- You will typically be more exposed to overall plant maintenance and as a result must work with each other and Shift Maintenance.
- Must be willing to stay over when the plant is shutdown or if a breakdown occurs, until the plant is back in production.
- Lubricate Equipment.
- Repair Equipment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot process and mechanical problems.
- Must identify needs for tools and equipment needed to make each task more productive.
- Must be willing to be trained on basic electrical troubleshooting and work to improve these skills.
- Must provide your own tools up to 1-1/4”.
- ACP will provide specialty tools. Your responsibility is to check them out when you need them and re-turn them to the designated location before you leave the plant.
- Must be familiar with the following:
- Pellet Mill Set Up and Maintenance. (On-Site Training may be required)- (Roll Replacement, Adjustment Die Replacement, and Adjustment and other).
- Mechanical Drive Replacement and/or Repair (Belt Drives Chain, Drives Gear Box, Drives Spur, Gear Drives, and other).
- Material Handling Equipment Repair. (Screw Conveyors, Belt Conveyors, Bucket Elevators, Drag Conveyors, and other).
- Pneumatic Systems Replacement and/or Repair (Solenoid Valves, Actuators, Air Compressors, Blowers/Fans, and other).
- Hydraulic Equipment Replacement and/or Repair (Pumps, Solenoid Valves, Actuators, and other).
- Welding and Cutting
- Shaft and Belt Alignment
- Use of all tools required for Maintenance (Torque Wrench, Laser Alignment…)
General Responsibilities
- Be a leader in safety and conduct.
- Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Must maintain good housekeeping.
- Responsible for reporting and documenting damage to equipment or property.
- Must be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work shift schedule, (days off varies, 7am-7pm and/or 7pm-7am), overtime when needed.
- Must be able to bend, sit, reach, stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. without any difficulties.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, (hot, cold, wet, and dry).
- Adhere to policies within the employee handbook.
