The Construction Coordination Technical Specialist - Plumbing plays a critical role in supporting MEP coordination and constructible design through advanced modeling and collaboration. This position focuses on developing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within building models and construction documents to ensure clash‑free, buildable solutions across disciplines.
Employment is full-time/salary, approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and may include some travel outside normal business hours. Essential Job Functions
Responsible for coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing (MEP) systems within building models and construction documents to ensure clash-free, constructible designs. This role requires advanced Autodesk Revit skills, a strong understanding of MEP systems, and the ability to collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed MEP Revit models for construction and coordination purposes
- Perform comprehensive clash detection and resolution using Revit and coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks)
- Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, and civil models
- Lead or participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants, and trade partners
- Prepare coordinated drawings for construction, shop drawings, and field installation
- Review design documents for constructability, conflicts, and coordination gaps Incorporate field redlines, RFIs, and as-built conditions into Revit models
- Maintain model standards, file organization, and version control
- Support project schedules by meeting modeling and coordination deadlines
- Assist with BIM execution plans and coordination workflows as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP)
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial construction
- Proven experience coordinating MEP systems in a multi-discipline environment
- Ability to identify conflicts and propose practical, buildable solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in MEP coordination, BIM, or construction modeling
- Experience with Navisworks Manage or similar clash detection software
- Knowledge of construction means and methods
- Familiarity with BIM execution plans and industry standards
- Field experience or strong understanding of installation practices
