Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Programmer & Production Scheduler to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise CNC programs, managing production schedules, and ensuring seamless operations on various machining equipment. Your expertise will drive efficiency, quality, and innovation in our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge software, contributing directly to the success of our production goals.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for machining centers such as CNC lathes and milling machines using CAM programming software.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
- Utilize CAD software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design parts and fixtures, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing specifications.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
- Schedule production runs efficiently by coordinating machine availability, tooling requirements, and material logistics.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, schematics, tool setups, and inspection reports for quality assurance.
- Collaborate with General Manager and Production Lead on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure parts meet exact tolerances.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements through data analysis and application of manufacturing best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing parts and programming tools.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings is essential.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency in production workflows.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, geometry calculations, schematics interpretation, and machine maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot CNC programming issues quickly.
- Strong math skills for accurate calculations related to machining tolerances and tool paths.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with leadership team and production staff.
