About this role

The Director of Manufacturing Production will serve as the Head of Production of the Brighton Nacelles Factory while driving operational excellence and supporting the site's cultural transformation. You will strengthen leadership capability, improve employee engagement, and champion SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost) to improve productivity, reduce overtime, and embed Lean manufacturing principles across the operation.


Success in this role will depend on building credibility quickly, earning the trust of employees and supervisors, and creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance. We are seeking a visible change leader who can influence culture, develop leaders, and deliver sustainable manufacturing results.


Responsibilities

The Director of Manufacturing Production directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the responsibilities personally or through subordinate supervisors.


  • Provide leadership across both day and night shift operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, establishing priorities and optimizing resources to ensure the daily fulfilment of sections to meet the production plan.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance challenges to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Be involved in identifying and recommending investment projects for machinery, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain continuous follow-up and fulfilment of targets for production performance (KPIs), including Compiling, storing, and retrieving production data, reports, and results on departmental KPI board.
  • Be responsible for budgeting for your own department and work within approved budget, while developing and implementing cost saving measures.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to subordinates, including developing subordinates' skills and encouraging growth.
  • Maintain continuous focus on reduction of direct labor cost per equivalent unit produced.
  • Ensure that Cost of Quality (COQ) goals are met and that quality metrics are optimized for continuous improvement of the quality systems.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state and federal EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Manage inventory minimizing shrink for floor stock inventories.
  • Demonstrated success building strong cross-functional partnerships across Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and other business functions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a complex global matrix organization, using data to influence decisions and collaborate with regional and global stakeholders.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience leading large, complex Lean manufacturing operations with responsibility for approximately 200 production employees or equivalent operational scope
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Manufacturing software such as SAP.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams by fostering trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
