Position Summary
Summer position June through mid October Saturdays 8-10 hrs a week.
The Farm Market Operations Coordinator, reporting under the Events Director, supports the planning, organization & execution of farm market operations, special events, and related community engagement initiatives. Their primary focus for this role, is to assist with the daily operations of the summer farm market through vendor and customer interactions, operational logistics, and program support thus ensuring the market functions smoothly. This position will support the Events Director and farm market team and will train in the ability to handle the daily market operations when the Events Director is not on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the farm market, including setup and breakdown of ADI info booth including and ensuring a clean and safe market environment.
- Assist with EBT token redemption, collection and maintaining accurate records.
- Help assign vendor booth spaces, ensure vendor compliance with market rules, food safety, and local regulations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives such as social media posts, and community outreach. Organize themed activities with the team.
- Engage with vendors to troubleshoot issues and facilitate communication between vendors and management.
- Greet customers, provide general information, answer questions, promote SNAP/EBT program.
- Capture photo/video content for marketing and help drive market traffic.
- Work closely with vendors, volunteers, and market team to ensure smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business, agriculture, hospitality or related field optional
- Ability to work early mornings on Saturdays from June-mid October as required by market schedules. (5:30 am-1:30 pm)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, often performing physical labor including lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50-75 lbs., and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with vendors, staff and customers.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills for dynamic, fast-paced market environments.
- Technological proficiency with email and social media platforms.
