Cargo Handling Specialist / Warehouse Associate - Medley, FL
We are currently hiring multiple Cargo Handling Specialists to join a busy warehouse and logistics operation in Medley, FL. This position plays a key role in receiving, inspecting, documenting, and preparing cargo shipments for storage and transportation.
This is a direct hire opportunity offering stable, full-time employment.
Pay: $18.40 per hour
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect incoming cargo to ensure it meets warehouse receiving guidelines
• Verify shipment counts and compare cargo against freight documentation
• Document cargo condition and report discrepancies
• Measure cargo and enter shipment data into the warehouse management system
• Prepare cargo for storage by palletizing and securing shipments
• Apply labels and documentation to cargo units
• Operate forklifts to unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse
• Load containers and trailers while ensuring proper cargo placement and safety
• Maintain accurate receiving records and shipment documentation
• Follow safety procedures and hazardous material handling guidelines
• Perform forklift inspections prior to each shift
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Warehouse, freight, or cargo handling experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Valid Florida driver’s license preferred
• Ability to read and communicate in English
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, climbing, and pushing/pulling materials
• Ability to work in warehouse environments with varying weather conditions
