Project Engineer

Seeking a Project Engineer for a leading and well-established engineering firm in the fast-growing coastal building structural restoration and weatherproofing industry. Duties would include conducting building assessment condition surveys, development of building condition reports and budgets, consultation with building owners for questions and decision-making, executing the competitive contractor bid processes, and construction project management and oversight. This role is for our Daytona Beach office, covering New Smyrna Beach to Jacksonville.

Experience with different building types including prestressed/precast, conventional cast-in-place, and post-tensioned concrete buildings, and collateral aspects of the work which may include structural repairs, coatings, waterproofing, doors and windows, railings, and roofing would all be beneficial. Position provides balanced time in both office and field work.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work effectively with other company team members to achieve project and company objectives.
• Assist in developing new project opportunities.
• Work closely with clients and contractors to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients and contractors.
• Become proficient in building inspections and developing accurate budget estimates.
• Establish practical project options for consideration.
• Become proficient in preparing bid packages for projects that minimize unknowns.
• Ensure projects are completed to the highest industry standards.
• Manage and track project budgets to assure anticipated funding needs.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred candidate to hold Florida PE (Professional Engineer) license in hand or imminent licensure
• Experience in coastal building restoration, waterproofing and/or roofing
• Skills with relevant software, including AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Office Suite, DropBox, OneDrive, QuickBase, FastField, etc.
• Willing to train individuals with the appropriate aptitude
