The Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the daily operation at our Albuquerque, NM and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure. This includes monitoring network performance, resolving connectivity issues, and assisting with the implementation of network upgrades. The role works under the guidance of senior IT staff and contributes to maintaining secure and reliable communications across all business units.
Technical Skills
- 3 years' relevant experience.
- Proficient in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), switches, and Network Access Control.
- Skilled with compute, storage, backup, virtualization, Active Directory, and remote access.
- Experienced in Voice services, PBX, VOIP, voice protocols (SIP, H.323), and Microsoft Teams.
- Able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network/server infrastructure.
- Capable of creating topology diagrams and documentation.
Responsibilities
Network and Infrastructure Oversight
- Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of network, voice, and infrastructure systems, including LAN, WAN, WiFi, PBX, and data center environments.
- Monitor and maintain daily operations to ensure optimal uptime, performance, and security of all network systems
- Provide troubleshooting and support for network and infrastructure issues, working to resolve problems in alignment with business needs.
- Assist with hardware, operating system, security, and application updates/patches for network and system components, as well as operating system hardening.
- Support planning and execution of capacity upgrades and expansions as directed by senior IT staff.
- Help maintain compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate safety awareness and follow safe work practices.
Technical Operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and infrastructure issues, working to minimize downtime and disruptions to business operations.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships to ensure contracts, support, and services align with business requirements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and support after-hours infrastructure maintenance and interventions.
- Provide assistance with IT hardware deployment and troubleshooting for other teams (network/storage equipment).
Project Management
- Support the planning and execution of network and infrastructure projects, assisting with project tasks as needed.
- Assist in ensuring projects meet business deadlines.
Collaboration and Communication
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal technology and business stakeholders.
- Work with IT teams to support platform implementations or changes that impact IT services or end-users.
- Assist in preparing regular reports on system performance, capacity, and security, and help present technical information to team members.
- Help design and deliver presentations on technical topics for both formal and informal settings.
