About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Executive Director to lead and manage all aspects of program administration, strategic planning, and community engagement. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, financial stability, and program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all administrative functions of the program.
Manage budget and financial operations; collaborate with contracted accountant to maintain fiscal controls.
Research, prepare, and submit grants; ensure compliance with reporting requirements for grantors, State Ombudsman Office, and Area Agency on Aging.
Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans.
Drive fundraising initiatives through media and community engagement.
Recruit, train, and retain staff; monitor program effectiveness.
Manage volunteer ombudsman recruitment, training, certification, and decertification.
Represent the organization through public speaking, community education, and networking.
Develop marketing materials including website content, newsletters, brochures, and flyers.
Conduct facility visits and complaint investigations as needed.
Qualifications
Completion of 36-hour State Certified Long Term Care Ombudsman training (provided by agency).
Ability to complete 18 hours of annual training to maintain certification.
BA degree or equivalent experience.
Proven administrative and management experience in private or non-profit sectors.
Strong understanding of government funding and grant writing/reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in modern office practices and computer applications.
Comfortable making presentations to diverse audiences.
Valid California driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprinting background check.
Knowledge of long-term care regulations preferred.
