AppleOne is partnering with a growing MEP engineering firm in Miami to identify a Director of Engineering (MEP) who will serve as a key right-hand leader to ownership.
This individual will play a critical role in overseeing all MEP teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality project delivery across multiple high-rise developments.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both strong technical expertise and the ability to lead, communicate, and drive performance across the organization.
Position Overview
The Director of Engineering (MEP) will oversee day-to-day production, technical coordination, and team performance across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines.
This person will act as the primary internal leader for production and external representative with clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) teams
- Serve as a right-hand to ownership, helping drive strategy, execution, and team alignment
- Act as the primary client-facing leader, attending coordination and OAC meetings
- Manage and mentor discipline leads (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
- Serve as the escalation point for technical, design, and coordination challenges
- Balance workload and staffing across multiple concurrent projects
- Enforce and elevate QA/QC standards and overall drawing quality
- Lead weekly production meetings and ensure alignment on schedules and deliverables
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across teams
- Ensure consistent communication between internal teams and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- 10 years of MEP design experience
- Strong technical knowledge across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines
- Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple projects
- High-rise building experience (ground-up required)
- Proficiency in Revit with multi-discipline coordination understanding
- Florida PE license (preferred or in process)
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate as both a technical expert and strategic leader
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $120,000 β $140,000
- 401(k) offered
