A Confidential State Agency dedicated to maintaining and improving mission-critical IT functions for the citizens of South Carolina is launching a major system modernization project and is seeking an experienced Data Information Architect / Database Administrator.
This critical role will be responsible for defining and documenting the enterprise data architecture, ensuring data integrity across core systems, and providing hands-on support for production databases. Key Responsibilities & Project Scope
The successful candidate will be a core part of a multi-year system modernization project, focusing on both strategic data architecture and operational database support:
- Data Modeling & Architecture: Perform current state assessments of existing data models and create new or updated logical and physical data models using ERwin Data Modeling software or similar tools.
- Documentation & Governance: Deliver data dictionaries and model documentation, maintaining a version-controlled repository of all enterprise data models.
- Data Quality: Identify and aid with duplicate data resolution and data integrity/consistency issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts to translate complex business requirements into robust data models.
- Production Support (DBA): Supplement the current DBA team with production support activities, including ad hoc daily tickets and version updates for ORACLE and MS SQL databases.
Required Technical Expertise
- 3 Years of Professional Data Modeling: Experience utilizing ERwin Data Modeling software or a similar dedicated data modeling tool.
- Database Administration: Hands-on experience with ORACLE 19 DBA and/or SQL SERVER (2019, 2022) administration and support.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- SQL Server DBA Certification.
- Experience with DD BOOST for backup and restore operations.
- Familiarity with Oracle Grid Control and Oracle ASM.
- Oracle Certified Associate or other relevant Oracle certification.
