Cloud Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Security Engineer to join a collaborative and innovative team. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on designing and implementing secure hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures for a major public sector entity

Role Overview

• Position: Cloud Network Security Engineer
• Location: Columbia, SC (Local preference, but open to remote for exceptional candidates)
• Duration: 12 Months (High possibility of extension)
• Team Size: 20
• Work Environment: Business Casual

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Design: Develop secure hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures (AWS, Azure), including VPC/VNet segmentation and routing.
• Security Implementation: Design and maintain ingress/egress controls, east-west traffic inspection, and microsegmentation.
• Connectivity: Integrate on-prem networks with cloud environments using VPN, Direct Connect, or Express Route.
• Standards & Guardrails: Define network standards, reference architectures, and security guardrails.
• Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners, App Owners, and Security teams to deliver optimal infrastructure solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 5-10 years in Information Security and Engineering.
• Cloud Infrastructure: 5 years of experience designing and maintaining infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
• Firewall Expertise: Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Cloud Security: Proven experience in cloud security design, operations, and automation.
• Documentation: Ability to document security tools, deployment configurations, and incident reports.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; must hold an AWS or Azure certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining Cloud VM Series Palo Alto Firewalls in AWS/Azure.
• Experience with F5 Load Balancing, Infoblox, Forescout, or Prisma Cloud.
• Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Solutions Architect, PCNSA, or PCNSE
