What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Intake Coordinator position at AppleOne Employment Services?
Duties:
Review outpatient and elective inpatient service requests for medical necessity.
Apply clinical guidelines and Medi-Cal criteria to support care decisions.
Communicate with providers and internal teams to coordinate services.
Refer cases to the Medical Director when needed.
Stay informed on covered benefits and assist with program referrals.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required.
MA or CNA certification required.
At least 2 years of clinical experience in acute care, community health, or chronic disease management.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database navigation.
Must pass drug test and background check.
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Ability to understand ICD-10 and medical coding.
Experience with MCG guidelines and Medi-Cal coverage is a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred But Not Required.
