Key Responsibilities:
Infection Control Duties
- Oversee the facility’s infection prevention and control program, ensuring adherence to protocols and compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Monitor and report infection data, conduct routine infection surveillance, and implement preventive measures in collaboration with the clinical team.
- Provide ongoing infection control education to staff, including training on current protocols, PPE usage, and best practices.
- Conduct audits and review data to identify trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in daily clinical operations and overall management of the nursing team.
- Act as a resource for nursing staff, offering guidance, training, and support in clinical practices and resident care.
- Provide leadership in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating quality assurance initiatives.
- Serve as acting DNS in the absence of the DNS to ensure continuity of care and leadership.
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in long-term care, with a strong background in infection control, wound care, and/or nursing leadership.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, infection control, and wound care documentation software.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) and/or Wound Care (WCC) preferred, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
