Description:
Located in the heart of Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region, Apple Mountain offers the perfect setting for every occasion. Since opening for the 1998 season the golf course at Apple Mountain has been consistently recognized as one of Michigan’s premier courses and featured in Golf Digest. The course is home to an established list of season pass holders, open play and hosts many of the region’s top golf outings/fundraiser events. Alongside its championship golf course, Apple Mountain features a Trackman Simulator Suite, an award-winning banquet and conference center, a full-service restaurant, and a convenient quick-service snack bar.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the golf services team (golf shop, bag staff, rangers, etc.) in providing exceptional guest services throughout the guest experience.
- Hire, train, coach and evaluate the performance of the golf services team.
- Develop and maintain a positive engaging relationship with golf passholders.
- Provide golf instruction and club-fitting with a passion for player development.
- Coordinate the receiving, pricing and inventory of merchandise with the Head Golf Professional.
- Ensure the golf shop is maintained in a neat and clean manner daily.
- Assist in golf outing planning and preparation including day of tournament and course set-up.
- Perform all golf services duties as needed.
Qualifications (Required):
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Ability to be visible, approachable and professional at all times.
- Excellent leadership abilities and the ability to manage many staff members.
- Great time management and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to pass a physical, drug screen, breathe alcohol screen and background check.
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
- A four-year degree and supervisory experience.
- 3 years of demonstrated golf course experience.
- Obtained or actively pursuing PGA Membership.
