We are looking for a senior engineer with strong programming skills to work on upcoming Apple products. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of drivers, APIs and network protocols for new hardware and software releases at Apple. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging at all layers of the software stack, from low level kernel drivers written in C , to higher level APIs and frameworks written in Objective C or Swift. It is an opportunity to make significant contributions to the core technologies that underpin many audio/video features at Apple such as AirPlay, Continuity Camera, and future projects. Some of the day to day responsibilities include:\n\n- Design, develop and debug network drivers, protocols and APIs for distributed systems\n\n- Analyze and improve performance of clock synchronization across Apple devices\n\n- Participate in monitoring industry standards bodies and new specification development\n\n- Participate in medium and large scale software engineering processes\n\n- Create and maintain engineering documents\n\n\n
5 years of experience in software development, debugging and testing\nExperience with kernel level programming, device drivers and/or real-time systems software\nExperience with designing, implementing and analyzing performance of network protocols\nExcellent programming skills with knowledge of C, C , and Objective-C or Swift\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nBS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience with wireless MAC layers, IEEE 802.11 standards and network performance\nExperience with IOKit, DriverKit or userspace driver development is a plus\nExperience in the audio or networking industries developing drivers or systems is a plus\nUnderstanding of UDP, IPv6, ARP/NDP, Bonjour, and IEEE 1588 / Precision Time Protocol is a plus\n
