What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborers Full Time position at Appalachian Timber Services, LLC?
Job Purpose:
Responsible Laborer to perform a variety of laborer tasks, including but not limited to material handling, ATS manufacturing processes, building/property upkeep, maintenance and landscaping of property and varies from day to day.
Principal (Essential) Duties
- Work in various aspects of the timber product industry
- Efficient and safety minded laborer
- Full-time temporary work in a variety of plant positions
- Consistent full-time work schedule
- Willing to follow directions closely & pay attention to detail
- Familiar with safety standards and procedures to ensure safety
- Provide labor support & general maintenance as needed
- Assist in preparing job sites for crew
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Physical strength, eye hand coordination and endurance
Experience/Education Requirements
- High School diploma or GED; additional qualifications in wood working and/or carpentry a plus
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- Perform medium to heavy work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force frequently
- Have ability to lift loads weighing up to 50 pounds when needed
- On the job training provided
- Climb steps, pull and perform physical work
