We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmologist or Optometrist to join our healthcare team on a full-time or part-time basis. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnoses, treatments, and patient education. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and physiological function.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric eye issues.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on eye health maintenance, preventive care, and treatment options to promote long-term visual wellness.
- Collaborate with optical staff to ensure proper fitting of eyewear and optical products.
- Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to uphold patient safety standards.
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology or optometry practices through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Valid license to practice as an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist in the respective state or region.
- Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry with a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to eye health.
- Knowledge of optical equipment, medical coding, and billing procedures related to eye care services.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and compassionately to diverse patient populations.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not mandatory.
