Position Overview
The Shelter Manager reports to the Director of Residential Services and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the Shelter program. The Manager also oversees the needs of the women, children, and families residing in our shelters. Through implementation of effective leadership skills the manager engages in managing the supporting staff to ensure growth, development, and optimal performance. Daily operations entail execution and monitoring of daily tasks and activities while building partnerships through effective collaboration with the Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Benefits (welfare), local funders, sponsors, and other community organizations and coalitions with the assistance of the Operations coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide services that are high quality, consistent, and in accordance with The Apostles' mission, vision, and values.
- Implement, and ensure compliance with shelter policies, procedures and practice norms.
- Oversee and maintain the daily operations of shelter facilities.
- Supervise and train a team of staff to deliver consistent and high-quality housing services.
- Project management of facility and program updates.
- Manage guests records, files, and reports to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and security of files.
- Monitoring of daily budget, occupancy levels, and HMIS management
- Monthly oversight of site billing
- Maintain all required documentation in accordance with agency policy and procedure and contractual mandates
- Coordinates/leads life skills workshops, field trips, guest speakers, and resources to support training and development of families.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- BA degree, MSW preferred
- 5 years of experience in leadership positions in Residential living or similar programs.
- Social work, psychological counseling, and conflict resolution experience.
- Knowledge of community resources to maximize success of program participants.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural competence with applied cultural humility in service provision for the population being served.
- Effective case management techniques.
- Career, vocational and employment counseling techniques
- Professional etiquette and ability to maintain a professional environment.
- Experience with housing programs and management of tenant issues
- Life skills required for self-sufficiency.
- Must have current driver’s license, vehicle, and liability insurance.
- Flexibility - for evening and weekend shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
