Overview
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional Housing Technician / Resident Aid to join our team in providing a safe, supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. This position plays a critical role in maintaining shelter operations during non-business hours and ensuring resident safety and compliance with shelter guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor shelter residents to ensure a respectful and safe environment is maintained.
- Conduct routine room checks for cleanliness and compliance with shelter rules.
- Address and de-escalate resident issues in a calm and respectful manner.
- Complete daily shift logs and incident reports as needed.
- Perform regular walkthroughs of the facility during assigned shifts.
- Assist residents with basic needs, resources, or referrals as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with other staff across shifts for consistent support and care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in homeless services, housing programs, or social services preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain alert and responsive during evening and overnight hours.
- Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
Compensation:
This is a salaried position. Pay is commensurate with experience and includes access to training and development opportunities.
