Quality Engineer

Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Quality Engineer in the North Georgia area. This is a contract-to-direct opportunity with a leading manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive sector.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and improving quality standards across production lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections on plastic automotive parts throughout the production process.
• Utilize IPQ and/or QWIN software to document, track, and report quality metrics and non-conformances.
• Identify root causes of defects and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure all parts and processes comply with automotive industry standards and customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and audit documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and warranty returns.
• Communicate quality findings and trends to engineering and management stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with IPQ and/or QWIN is preferred
• Direct experience performing quality control on plastic parts in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans is preferred
• Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection equipment (calipers, CMM, gauges, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar credential.
• Experience with injection molding or other plastic forming processes.
• Familiarity with OEM customer portals and supplier quality requirements.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
