VP, Quantitative Analytics
Role Overview
This position focuses on applying advanced quantitative techniques to support trading activity, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making within a financial markets environment. The role combines mathematical modelling, data analysis, and technology to enhance trading performance and optimise the use of capital and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and enhance quantitative models to generate insights into market behavior, supporting pricing, trading strategies and risk management across a range of products.
- Partner with client-facing teams to understand requirements and develop tailored analytical solutions.
- Conduct detailed research and statistical analysis to identify trends, evaluate risk factors and uncover market opportunities.
- Maintain and improve analytical tools and libraries used by front office teams to ensure robust and efficient workflows.
- Contribute expertise on quantitative techniques, technological developments, and industry practices to support continuous innovation.
Role Context
You will work closely with trading desks to develop tools and models that support risk management, optimize inventory usage, and identify opportunities to enhance revenue. The role involves collaboration with multiple stakeholders to translate business challenges into quantitative solutions.
Required Experience and Skills
- Strong knowledge of equity-related products and associated modelling approaches
- Solid grounding in mathematics (e.g. calculus, linear algebra) and data analysis techniques, including exposure to machine learning
- Advanced proficiency in Python and experience with object-oriented programming
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to deliver across multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience within equity financing or similar trading environments
- Familiarity with financial instruments such as repos, derivatives, futures, and structured equity products
- Understanding of optimization techniques (e.g. linear programming)
- Experience working across different platforms and environments, including modern development and deployment practices
- Exposure to data visualisation tools, APIs, and interactive analytical environments
- Familiarity with modern development tools, including AI-assisted coding solutions
Salary : $150,000 - $225,000
