What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Wastewater Treatment Instructor position at Apollo Career Center?
Position Summary: Apollo Career Center adult education is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable instructor to teach a part-time Wastewater Treatment class. This 60-hour course provides an overview of the treatment of municipal wastewater and is designed to assist students in preparing for the State of Ohio Class I Wastewater Operator Exam. Class is scheduled for 1/6/26 – 2/24/26, but dates are flexible.
Course Topics Include:
- Wastewater treatment processes and equipment
- Understanding sewer systems and infrastructure
- Laboratory procedures related to wastewater treatment
- Wastewater treatment theory and principles
- Mathematical calculations required for the state exam
Qualifications:
- Significant practical experience in wastewater treatment operations
- Current or previous Ohio Wastewater Operator certification preferred (minimum Class I)
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, math, and laboratory practices
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
