What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA Instructor position at Aplington-Parkersburg Community School District?
The four school districts making up the Western Outreach Center (A-P, DNH, Grundy Center, G-R) in conjuction with Hawkeye Community College are looking to hire a teacher to teach the CNA course during the second and third trimester helping our high school students become CNA certified. Trimester 2 runs November 11/17 through February 19th. 3rd Trimester is March 1st through May 12th)
Hours for the course that are required are
30 hours in the classroom (theory) 15 hours in the lab (which is at the WOC) 30 hours of Clinical (Traditionally has been Creek Side in Grundy Center) Clinicals have been done on weekends in the past
Most of the classroom portion is done on line by the students on Canvas and most of your work can be done at night with the classroom portion. The lab portion has been ran during the school day but this does have some flexibility dependent on the teacher for the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4132.2C - Instructor Qualifications The training of nurse aides must be performed by or under the general supervision of a registered professional nurse, who possesses a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, at least one year of which must be in the provision of long-term-care facility services. In addition, instructors of nurse aides must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or have experience supervising nurse aides. § 483.152 Requirements for approval of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program. (5) Meet the following requirements for instructors who train nurse aides; (i) The training of nurse aides must be performed by or under the general supervision of a registered nurse who possesses a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, at least 1 year of which must be in the provision of long term care facility services; (ii) Instructors must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.

The candidate will need to go through some training through Hawkeye Community College but will be paid for the trainings. Position will be paid hourly with some prep time included.
