Job Summary
The Behavioral Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges by implementing therapeutic interventions and strategies. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing support to promote positive behavioral changes. The Behavioral Specialist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify behavioral issues and develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including art therapy, to facilitate emotional expression and coping skills.
  • Provide counseling on gender issues to promote understanding and acceptance among clients.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and medical staff, to ensure holistic care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Educate clients and their families about psychopharmacology options when applicable, ensuring informed decision-making regarding medication management.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress and share insights on best practices in behavioral health.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and therapeutic techniques.
  • Proficiency in art therapy as a method of engagement and expression for clients.
  • Knowledge of gender issues counseling to address the unique needs of diverse populations.
  • Familiarity with psychopharmacology and its implications for behavioral health treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Case management: 3 years (Required)
  • at risk youth and adults : 3 years (Required)
  • Day treatment : 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Ohio Driver's License (Required)

  • Columbus, OH 43235 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Columbus, OH 43235: Relocate before starting work (Required)
