HIRING A PRODUCTION MANAGER TO OVERSEE OUR NJ & PA FACILITIES:

The PRODUCTION MANAGER is responsible for leading and overseeing our entire production facilities (NJ and PA), ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of gourmet popcorn. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of production management, including creating schedules, hiring and training, fostering an inclusive work environment, driving innovation, and managing inventory both at our facility and off-site warehouses and storage locations. Our Production Manager is expected to set a hardworking and positive example to our entire production team.

Major Responsibilities

  • PRODUCTION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Develop and maintain a weekly production schedule that optimizes efficiency and meets production targets.
  • Create shift schedules, allocate tasks, and ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Lead the hiring process for new employees and provide support for neurodiverse staff, including making necessary accommodations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Communicate production plans and schedules clearly to production teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with production goals.
  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND PROCUREMENT
  • Receive incoming shipments and deliveries, verifying the accuracy of orders.
  • Manage all inventory, including raw ingredients and packaging materials, both at our facility and off-site storage locations.
  • Place orders for ingredients and materials, optimizing stock levels to avoid shortages and overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor shelf life and quality of materials.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms and ensure timely deliveries.
  • RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D)
  • Lead R&D efforts to develop new popcorn flavors and recipes that align with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and find more efficient ways for the production team to make popcorn.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to remain competitive.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.
  • INDUSTRY EXPERTISE AND MACHINERY
  • Become an industry expert, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in popcorn production and packaging machinery.
  • Develop a deep understanding of all machinery used in our production processes.
  • Ensure machinery is well-maintained, and staff are trained on proper operation.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • SAFETY AND PPE COMPLIANCE
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines, including proper PPE usage, to maintain safe workplace.
  • Ensure that all team members wear PPE properly, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with safety officers and teams to enhance workplace safety.
  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT ACROSS LOCATIONS
  • Manage inventory not only at our production facility but also at off-site warehouses and storage locations.
  • Implement inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels and replenishment needs.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock transfers and inventory control.
  • Maintain organized records of inventory across all locations to facilitate efficient supply chain management.
  • TEAM DEVELOPMENT & RELATIONS
  • Owns hiring, training, development, and accountability of associates to ensure optimal results and operational standards
  • Collaborates with Shift Leads to provide timely and effective orientation and training processes for new hires
  • Creates training and development plans to meet future growth plans of the organization
  • Adequately creates schedules for shift leads and associates to ensure business needs and forecasted sales are maximized
  • Coaches Shift Leads and associates to actively foresee, identify, and resolve production issues
  • Handles employee performance management and employee relations in accordance with company employee handbook and policies
  • Fosters a positive work environment by leading team with integrity and modeling company core values and culture
  • Effectively communicates with associates in Spanish and English
  • OPERATIONS
  • Manages popcorn production from start to finish including but not limited to: scaling, mixing, scooping, storing, and delivering quality assurance
  • Leads the E-Commerce team to ensure orders are completed and shipped in a timely manner
  • Ensures all company policies, safety, and health standards are met to keep the organization accident-free
  • ADMIN & INVENTORY/FINANCIAL REPORTING
  • Actively communicates with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production through existing communication channels
  • Maintains and service facility and equipment to ensure optimal operational excellence
  • Minimizes waste with a topline focus
  • ADHERE TO AND FOLLOW
    • The By-Laws of the Corporation and as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation

Job Qualifications and Competencies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Degree in the Culinary Arts or relevant field

Education and Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in high-volume production
  • Food Handlers Certification or be willing to complete (In Required Areas)
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training

Job Competencies

  • Proven experience in a production role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Innovative mindset with a track record of driving process improvements.
  • Familiarity with food safety and quality standards. (Specifically, NSF)
  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Strong organizational and operational skills
  • Ability to coach and motivate employees
  • Pro-verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite and other computer programs
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish
