Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift leads and supervises unionized work groups to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high‑quality products. This role plays a critical part in driving operational excellence, fostering a strong safety culture, and coordinating resources across departments to meet customer and business objectives.

What You Will Do

Production & Workforce Leadership

• Supervise daily production operations to meet customer service, shipping, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
• Lead and support unionized employees in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Coordinate daily labor scheduling and resource allocation to ensure efficient workflow.
• Train, evaluate, coach, and take corrective action with employees as appropriate.
  
  

Safety & Culture

• Proactively create and reinforce a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Ensure safe work practices are followed and address safety concerns promptly.
  
  

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Purchasing, Production Control, and Planning teams to ensure materials and supplies are available to meet scheduled ship dates.
• Communicate effectively with functional teams across the organization to ensure on‑time delivery of quality products.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to maintain efficient workflow across shifts.
  
  

Operational Management

• Operate within established budgets and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to monitor production activity and support operational decision‑making.
  
  

What You Bring

• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience supervising employees in a unionized setting.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems; Plex experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with Demand Flow Technologies and/or Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Previous experience in engineered‑to‑order manufacturing environments preferred.
• Heat exchanger and/or pressure vessel manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME code requirements preferred.
• Working knowledge of metals and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including production floor exposure.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during the shift.
• Occasional lifting consistent with production floor requirements.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
