Position Overview
The Quality Technician performs intermediate-level inspection, measurement, and documentation functions to ensure products and processes meet specified standards and customer requirements. This role requires hands-on proficiency with precision measurement equipment, the ability to conduct production inspections, and other high-level quality activities, and a working knowledge of quality management.
What You Will Do
Inspection & Measurement
• Read and interpret engineering prints, GD&T tolerances, and specifications to verify dimensional and functional conformance
• Perform material inspections using precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, and other calibrated gauges to inspect components and finished products
• Execute incoming, in-process, final inspections, and First Article Inspections (FAIRs). Initiate quality holds when nonconformances are identified
Quality Systems & Documentation
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of inspections, tests, and quality audits using the ERP, Excel, and other quality management systems
• Investigate nonconformances, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness through follow-up activities
Supplier Quality & Customer Support
• Support Supplier Returns and MRB processes including documentation and disposition
• Assist with customer communication and investigation of RMAs and warranty returns
Training & Team Support
• Provide on-the-spot guidance to production staff on quality procedures, print reading, and inspection techniques, as required
• Demonstrate safe work practices and support a positive, productive work environment
• Serve as a quality role model on the production floor
What You Will Be Expected to Learn in the Role

• Calibration management program
• Scrap and materials processing procedures
• Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) in coordination with the Engineering team
• Advanced PPAP inspection, documentation and submission processes
What You Bring
Required
• 2–5 years of experience in a quality technician or inspection role in a manufacturing environment, OR an engineering degree (Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant quality experience
• Proficiency with precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other calibrated instruments
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T tolerances
• Computer proficiency in Excel and Word; experience with Plex or similar ERP/quality management systems is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly and interface with production, engineering, and supply chain
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
• Experience performing PPAPs, First Article Inspections (FAIRs), or other advanced dimensional inspection activities
• Proficiency with CMM systems
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent certification
Work Environment
This position works primarily on the manufacturing floor and in a quality lab environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods, working in a production setting, and occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs. Proper use of personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.
