The Fleet Services Division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel / EVT Fleet Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced, multi-discipline fleet operation. This position performs advanced preventive maintenance, complex diagnostics, and high-level corrective repairs on heavy-duty diesel vehicles, emergency response apparatus, and specialized municipal equipment, many of which are mission-critical assets supporting
public safety and essential services.
As a senior member of the Fleet Maintenance team, this position is responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic diagnostic and repair work on heavy duty diesel municipal vehicles and equipment, including fire apparatus and emergency vehicle systems, in accordance with manufacturer specifications, EVT standards, and industry best practices. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and technical judgment
under the general supervision of the Fleet Services Supervisor.
This position performs highly specialized technical work on a diverse fleet that includes fire apparatus, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, and other complex support equipment. The incumbent is expected to diagnose and resolve the most complex and safety-sensitive issues, support fleet uptime for critical operations, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other technicians as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert level proficiency, a strong commitment to safety, and consistent delivery of high-quality workmanship.
