What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Engineering Assistant position at apexnc?
Performs technical design and supervisory work for electrical service extension, maintenance and system improvement projects. An employee of this class gathers field data, prepares design documents and provides technical support and supervision of work crews involved in the installation of electrical service extension, maintenance and system improvement projects. Considerable independent judgment and initiative are exercised in interactions with customers and developers. The employee will also assist in promoting the load management and time of use programs for the Town. Work also involves assisting in promoting and coordinating the street and area lighting programs for the Town. The employee is subject to hazards associated with electric power in both inside and outside environments and working in extreme heat and freezing weather. Exposure to various hazards such as working at heights, loud noises, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, confined spaces, poor ventilation, and oils. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Electric Technical Services Manager. Performance is reviewed through observation of work in progress and judged upon completion of assigned tasks.
This position reports to the Electric Technical Services Manager.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
