An established client is launching a strategic initiative to modernize its automation frameworks by transitioning from legacy systems to advanced technologies. We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Developer to lead this transformation and contribute to the development of a robust Playwright-based testing framework using TypeScript. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of automation innovation while collaborating closely with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
Position Summary:
The Test Automation Developer will focus on building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript. This is a development-heavy role with no manual testing responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD workflows and manage offshore team members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop automated scripts using Playwright and TypeScript
- Build and maintain a scalable Playwright testing framework
- Schedule and trigger automation scripts within GitLab pipelines
- Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to optimize CI/CD processes
- Participate in infrastructure and tooling discussions related to containerization and deployment
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to offshore SDET team members
- Troubleshoot automation issues and implement best practices
- Stay informed on emerging technologies in automation and DevOps
- 3 years of software development experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Experience building automation frameworks (Playwright preferred)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Ability to schedule and manage automation scripts in GitLab pipelines
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Proven experience working with DevOps teams on infrastructure and deployment
- Ability to manage and coordinate with offshore team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Python
- Exposure to containerization and virtualization technologies
- Prior experience in managing offshore SDET teams
