Job Description:

  • NET Developer (Contract‑to‑Hire)

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on .NET Developer who is strong in core fundamentals and comfortable writing, explaining, and defending their code. This role requires an engineer who can clearly articulate their thought process, solve problems in real time, and work deeply in code—not someone focused on leadership, oversight, or theory alone.

This is an individual contributor role on a growing, learning-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET / C#
  • Build and explain RESTful APIs
  • Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to support application logic
  • Collaborate with the team to solve technical problems and improve system design
  • Participate in code walkthroughs, technical discussions, and live problem-solving sessions
  • Adapt to evolving technologies and development standards within the team

Required Qualifications

  • ~5–10 years of professional development experience
    • 5–6 years preferred
    • Open to junior or mid-level candidates with strong fundamentals
  • Strong experience with:
    • .NET / C# development
    • Web application development
    • SQL
  • Ability to:
    • Write and explain RESTful APIs
    • Write SQL queries during interviews
    • Code a simple program live
    • Clearly explain problem-solving approaches (even if solutions are not perfect)
  • Solid understanding of software fundamentals and development best practices

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle databases
  • Exposure to environments that require bridging or working across SQL and Oracle platforms

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Strong preference for candidates with formal education and solid technical foundations
  • Bootcamp-only or non-technical career-pivot candidates are generally not a fit unless depth is clearly demonstrated

  • Cleveland candidates considered only if Kansas City options do not materialize
  • Preference for candidates who can be local, engaged, and long-term contributors
