Location: Chandler, Arizona (Onsite)
Role Overview
The Senior Cleans Process Engineer will support multiple cleans processes within a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position focuses on improving process performance, reducing operational losses, increasing yield, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, collaborative, and comfortable working closely with manufacturing teams in a fast-paced fab environment.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who is willing to support factory priorities, troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor, and work cross-functionally to solve complex process challenges.

Senior Cleans Process Engineer

Role Overview
The Senior Cleans Process Engineer will support multiple cleans processes within a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position focuses on improving process performance, reducing operational losses, increasing yield, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, collaborative, and comfortable working closely with manufacturing teams in a fast-paced fab environment.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who is willing to support factory priorities, troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor, and work cross-functionally to solve complex process challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Reduce defectivity, cycle time, and operational costs.
- Improve process capability, yield, and overall factory performance.
- Analyze process and equipment data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support development activities by creating process specifications and documentation.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data-driven methodologies to improve performance.
- Participate in capacity planning and process optimization initiatives.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
- Train and mentor team members on process best practices.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Facilities, Equipment Engineering, and other Engineering teams.
- Work with OEM and third-party vendors to support process improvements and issue resolution.
Education
- BS or MS degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-8 years of semiconductor process engineering experience preferred.
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Candidates with less experience but strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly will be considered.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience troubleshooting process-related issues and identifying root causes.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret process and equipment performance data.
- Knowledge of statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present technical information and recommendations to various audiences.
- Experience supporting cleans processes within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with diffusion, wet process, or related semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience with any of the following toolsets is a plus:
- SCP9400
- WS-820L
- Akrion GAMA wet benches
- Semitool SST, SAT, and RADR batch solvent cleaning systems
- Screen 80B/80EX spray tools
- FSI Mercury/Zeta
- Data-driven and analytical mindset.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support evolving business and manufacturing needs.
- Team-oriented and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and ownership.
- Comfortable working directly with operations and supporting fab-floor activities when needed.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, 24x7 semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to adjust priorities and schedules as needed to support factory objectives.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable spending time in the fab environment supporting process and manufacturing activities.
- Must be proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
