Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Powder Coating Cell Lead to establish and manage powder coating operations within an advanced CNC and sheet metal prototype and production shop. This role is responsible for building the powder coating process from the ground up, including procedure development, operator training, quality assurance, and equipment specification.
Key Responsibilities
The pay rate for this position is between $29.00 and $39.00 per hour.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Powder Coating Cell Lead to establish and manage powder coating operations within an advanced CNC and sheet metal prototype and production shop. This role is responsible for building the powder coating process from the ground up, including procedure development, operator training, quality assurance, and equipment specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document comprehensive powder coating procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Establish process parameters and quality standards for powder coating operations and optimize processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Train and mentor powder coating operators on proper techniques, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate daily operations to meet production demands.
- Implement quality control checkpoints throughout the coating process, conducting inspections and measurements to ensure specifications are met.
- Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with the quality management system.
- Scope, specify, and recommend powder coating equipment purchases and upgrades, and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Utilize a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for work order tracking, process documentation, and data collection.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in powder coating operations.
- Note: If you don't have Powder Experience, Auto Body Painting is also applicable.
- 2 years in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS) in a production setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- A strong understanding of powder coating chemistry, application techniques, and curing processes.
- Experience developing procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measurement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience in ISO 9001 certified facilities.
- Background in CNC machining or sheet metal fabrication environments.
- Familiarity with prototype and low-volume production operations.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements for coating operations.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
