Seeking an Institutional Investment Operations Specialist to join the DTC Settlement Operations team in Charlotte. This role supports daily DTC settlement and fail control processing for domestic markets across equity and fixed income products.
The ideal candidate has hands-on settlement experience, understands regulatory buy-in processes, and operates effectively in a high-volume, risk‑sensitive environment. This is a 3‑month contract-to-hire role with strong conversion potential.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- 2 years of Securities Operations or Institutional Investment Operations experience
- Hands-on DTC settlement experience (equities and/or fixed income)
- Experience managing trade fails and buy-in processing (Rule 204, Reg T, MSRB)
- Experience resolving breaks and working directly with counterparties
- Strong understanding of the settlement lifecycle and operational risk
- International settlement exposure (Euroclear, Clearstream, Crest)
- DTCC Smart/TRACK experience
- Broadridge systems experience (GLOSS, Impact, BPS)
- CNS obligation and short position management experience
- Prime Brokerage exposure

- Support daily DTC settlement and fail control processing across domestic markets
- Monitor trade clearance, settlement activity, and operational risk
- Manage regulatory buy-in processes (Rule 204, Reg T, MSRB)
- Monitor CNS obligations and remediate short positions
- Liaise with Middle Office, Securities Finance, Repo/Funding, counterparties, and vendors
- Manage buy-in notices via Smart/TRACK
- Support international buy-in obligations as needed
- Maintain high service levels and ensure timely settlement of trades
