Lead Senior Forensic Specialist (Insider Threat)
Location: Hybrid – San Diego, CA (Up to 2 days onsite/week)

A large enterprise environment is seeking a Lead Senior Forensic Specialist to support sensitive insider threat and employee investigations alongside Legal, HR, and Security teams. This role is centered on digital investigations involving employee data across Microsoft collaboration platforms and does not involve hardware or software forensic analysis.
You’ll be part of a small, trusted Insider Threat function with high visibility and close alignment to security operations and incident response teams.
What You’ll Do
Hands‑on experience with each of the following:

- Lead digital forensic investigations in support of Legal and Human Resources
- Securely collect and analyze employee data from Exchange, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
- Produce clear, defensible forensic reports for internal investigations
- Support cases involving insider threat, IP theft, workplace misconduct, fraud, and policy violations
- Ensure investigations meet compliance, legal, and data governance requirements
- Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response stakeholders
- 7 years in digital forensics, insider threat, or cybersecurity investigations
- Experience supporting corporate internal investigations
- Strong analytical skills and professional investigative report writing
- Proven ability to handle sensitive employee data with discretion
- Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) or
- Certified Insider Specialist
- (No degree required)
