Guidance Nav & Control Engineer 4 (TS Clearance Required)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to support the design, analysis, and testing of control systems for precision electro-optical systems. This role involves working with both directed energy and electro-optical systems. The engineer will gather, define, and document system-level requirements, develop GNC and mathematical tools, and work under minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications.
Experience: Experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineering and Classical Control Theory.
Technical Skills: Experience with a higher-level programming language such as C, MATLAB, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
This is a full-time, first-shift position. The standard hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A 9x80 work schedule is optional. This role requires U.S. Person status for purposes of Export Compliance. Less than 10% domestic travel may be required.

- Gather, define, and document GNC mission requirements, ensuring traceability from system to component level.
- Perform and document the analysis and design of GNC systems.
- Perform model validation against test data to improve simulation accuracy.
- Use advanced analysis to assess and refine control law design.
- Develop solutions and disposition of issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct design trade studies to meet program requirements.
- Work across multiple disciplines, including systems engineering, software, and hardware.
- Implement COTS solutions where appropriate.
- Author and maintain engineering documentation for consistency and delivery.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications.
Experience: Experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineering and Classical Control Theory.
Technical Skills: Experience with a higher-level programming language such as C, MATLAB, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree in a related field or coursework in Advanced Control Systems.
- Hardware implementation experience.
- Experience implementing algorithms in a real-time system.
- Experience with Speedgoat.
