Content Editor

Overview:
Type: Freelance
Location: Remote
Hours: aprox. 30 hrs / week
Duration: 2 - 3 months
 

Our agency client is seeking a detail-oriented content editor to review and refine copy on packaged products, as well as other formats - print, digital, presentations, and social media. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
• Ensure consistency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting across all deliverables.
• Verify changes against markups and perform quality assurance checks on variable elements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage workload, align on style decisions, and meet deadlines.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback and maintain organized workflows for multiple projects.

Core Skill Sets:

• Expert command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
• Exceptional attention to detail and pattern recognition.
• Strong organizational and time management skills for juggling multiple projects.
• Ability to simplify complex messaging for clarity and accessibility.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience proofing and editing packaging. 
• Experience working with large scale retail companies. 
• Professional proofreading and copy editing experience.
• Familiarity with agency workflows and house style guides.
• Experience with soft proofing systems and project management tools (e.g., Adobe Workfront).
• Writing experience is a plus
