Job Title: Capital Markets Project Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (3x onsite) – Uptown

Contract Length: 12 months (strong extension / potential conversion)

Rate: $57-63/hr

Interview Process: 2 rounds

Top Requirements:

  • 5 years of end-to-end project management experience
  • Capital Markets experience with strong understanding of front-office / trading environments
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, large datasets, scripts/macros)
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for executive-level reporting
  • Experience with Jira, project plans, and RAID logs
  • Banking industry experience

Plusses:

  • Regulatory program experience (regulatory capital, risk, or control initiatives)
  • APIP experience
  • SharePoint or Power BI exposure

Job Summary:

Seeking a PM4-level Project Manager to support a large-scale Capital Markets PnL attribution initiative. This role partners closely with front-office trading desks and technology teams, owning projects end-to-end while managing complex datasets, executive reporting, and cross-functional delivery within a highly regulated environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end project management across multiple Capital Markets workstreams
  • Act as primary liaison to front-office trading teams, translating business needs into execution plans
  • Retrieve, analyze, and manipulate large Excel datasets (3,500 line items) for weekly reporting
  • Consolidate data into executive-ready PowerPoint decks with 30- and 60-day forward-looking views
  • Translate project plans and deliverables into Jira, managing timelines, dependencies, and RAID logs
  • Partner with technology teams on platform development, testing, and issue resolution
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks to ensure delivery within regulatory and governance standards
  • Communicate project status, risks, and insights clearly to senior stakeholders

Excel/PowerPoint Data-Heavy Project Fit

  • Have you personally used VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP or macros/scripts in Excel?
  • If yes, tell me how and for what.
  • Have you worked with large datasets? What do you do with them?
  • How do you take your Excel outputs and turn them into executive-level PowerPoint decks?
  • Are you comfortable being in Excel daily and working with high-volume data every week?

Executive-Level Stakeholder Communication

  • Tell me about a time you presented project updates or data to executive-level stakeholders, what was the message and how did you frame it?

Project Management Ownership

  • Walk me through a project where you owned execution and delivery.
  • What did you personally own? (project plan updates, risks, status reporting, stakeholder communication)

Capital Markets & Front Office Exposure

  • What Capital Markets products have you worked with?
  • Have you worked directly with the front office as your client? How did your role support them?
