The Application Architect will partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, guide, and oversee the architecture of enterprise applications.
- Partner with stakeholders, engineering teams, and technical leads.
- Lead design decisions that align with enterprise strategy and standards.
- Create architecture diagrams, design documentation, and solution roadmaps.
- Perform architectural reviews, analyze technical debt, and evaluate solution alternatives.
- Drive enterprise-wide architecture standards and influence technical strategy.
Experience:
- 10 years in software development and application design.
- 5 years in an Application Architect, Technical Lead, or similar architecture role.
- Strong hands-on background in Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and enterprise application frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.
- Experience designing multi-tier and microservices-based architectures, REST APIs, and integration patterns.
- Experience with cloud-native applications (AWS/Azure/GCP) and event-driven, messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, etc.).
- Solid understanding of application security frameworks (OAuth2, SAML, JWT), scalability, and performance engineering.
- Proficiency with relational & NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Familiarity with UML, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Maven/Gradle, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP Architect), TOGAF, or SAFe Architect certifications.
- Experience with application modernization, cloud migration programs, domain-driven design, or API-first design.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
