Position Overview

As a Food Service & Vending Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping APEX locations operating safely and efficiently.

You'll troubleshoot and address equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, assist with installations and equipment moves, and help our food service and vending teams keep their operations running.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems and finding solutions. You'll work with a variety of equipment and will need to be comfortable learning new systems and technologies.

You'll also interact with APEX employees, managers, customers, vendors, and client contacts, so professionalism and strong communication skills are important.

What You'll Do

Keep Equipment Running

• Perform routine maintenance on food service and vending equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine appropriate solutions
• Make repairs when possible and safely within your level of training
• Identify equipment that requires additional service or outside repair
• Test equipment after repairs or adjustments
• Help minimize equipment downtime
• Maintain equipment in safe, clean, and working condition
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs

Support Vending Operations

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and service vending machines and related equipment
• Assist with vending machine installations, moves, and replacements
• Help diagnose issues with refrigeration, payment systems, lighting, controls, and other vending components
• Assist with stocking or operational issues when needed
• Respond to service calls and equipment concerns
• Communicate equipment issues to the appropriate manager or operations team
• Help ensure vending equipment provides a positive customer experience

Support Food Service Operations

• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment used in cafés, kitchens, markets, and other food service locations
• Assist with equipment installation and setup
• Support kitchen and café teams when equipment issues arise
• Help maintain equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, warming equipment, beverage equipment, smallwares, and other food service equipment
• Identify potential equipment problems before they become larger operational issues
• Work with managers and vendors to coordinate repairs when needed

Install, Move & Set Up Equipment

• Assist with delivery and installation of new equipment
• Safely move equipment and supplies between locations
• Assist with equipment setup and placement
• Verify equipment is operating properly after installation
• Follow manufacturer and APEX procedures
• Coordinate with operations teams to minimize disruption to customers and employees

Troubleshoot & Solve Problems

We need someone who enjoys figuring things out.

• Investigate equipment problems and determine possible causes
• Use logical troubleshooting techniques to identify issues
• Research equipment information and operating procedures when needed
• Communicate problems and recommended solutions clearly
• Know when an issue requires specialized service or a vendor
• Follow up to make sure problems are resolved
• Look for ways to prevent recurring equipment issues

Provide Great Customer Service

The technician is often the person employees and customers see when something isn't working.

• Respond professionally and courteously to service requests
• Communicate clearly with café, vending, and operations teams
• Keep managers informed about equipment issues and repair status
• Minimize disruption to customers and employees
• Represent APEX professionally at client locations
• Take ownership of problems and follow through until they are resolved

Maintain Tools, Parts & Supplies

• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
• Keep service vehicles and work areas clean and organized
• Track parts and materials used for repairs
• Communicate when replacement parts or supplies are needed
• Properly care for company tools and equipment
• Help maintain accurate service and inventory records

Be Part of the Team

• Work closely with operations, culinary, vending, warehouse, and management teams
• Assist other departments when needed
• Share knowledge and help team members understand equipment operation
• Cross-train in different areas of APEX operations
• Be willing to learn new equipment, technology, and systems
