We’re hiring operators to help shape high-quality metal parts and keep production running smoothly.APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in the Mount Clemens, MI area looking to add a Press Room Operator to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to operate presses safely and efficiently while performing quality inspections and maintaining accurate production documentation. Keep reading for more details!What’s in it for you:1st shift opportunity – Monday to Friday from 7am-3:30pmCompetitive hourly rate: $18–$19/hr depending on experience, with the potential to earn an additional $1/hr upon hire based on performance and skillContract-to-hire position - you'll be hired based on attendance, performance and client needsAmazing benefit package once hired in permanentlyMedical, Dental and Vision401KPaid vacation What your day will look like:Perform part inspections at the start of each coil and during production, checking thickness, plug gauge, burrs, surface, and flatness per control plan.Document inspections as required with QC sign-off.Maintain lot control and traceability cards.Complete production reports and inspection documentation accurately.Report any issues or concerns immediately.Visually inspect presses for unusual noise, vibration, leaks, or metal particles.Check material surfaces and in-process parts for defects.Identify and report miss-hits to the Team Leader right away.Use a micrometer to take accurate measurements.Keep scrap organized and move it as needed.What we are looking for:Previous manufacturing or press operator experience requiredAbility to read and interpret measurement tools (e.g., micrometer, gauges)Strong attention to detail and quality standardsPunctual, energetic, and reliableHigh attention to detail and ability to lift 25 lbs.At Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
