Apex Placement & Consulting has partnered with an established organization in Ossining, NY seeking an experienced Desktop Team Supervisor to lead its desktop support function.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys both solving complex technical problems and developing people. The Desktop Team Supervisor will oversee day-to-day desktop support operations, serve as an escalation point for the team, mentor and coach technical staff, and ensure employees receive responsive, high-quality technology support.

What You’ll Be Doing
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of the Desktop Support team
- Mentor and coach team members to strengthen their technical knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues and questions
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development support
- Help establish priorities and ensure support requests and incidents are addressed efficiently
- Maintain strong communication with IT leadership regarding ongoing issues, trends, priorities, and resolutions
Desktop & User Support
- Provide advanced technical support for employees working onsite, at remote offices, and from home
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to highly complex desktop hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues
- Support both Windows and Apple environments
- Administer and support technologies including:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Intune
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Azure
- VPN and remote connectivity solutions
- Troubleshoot issues involving viruses, hard drives, file repair, data encryption, applications, and related desktop technologies
- Track, document, and resolve incidents, service requests, and security-related incidents
- Ensure resolutions are thoroughly and accurately documented for future reference
Projects, AV & Technology Support
- Manage projects that fall within the Desktop Support team's area of responsibility
- Coordinate with Infrastructure, Security, Development, and other IT teams to resolve issues and support organizational initiatives
- Provide audiovisual support for presentations and Microsoft Teams meetings
- Set up and troubleshoot microphones, speakers, conferencing equipment, and related collaboration technology
- Work with outside technology vendors and consultants when necessary
- Ensure technology assets and equipment are properly assigned and tracked within the organization's inventory management system
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree in Information Technology required; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
- CompTIA A certification required
- 5 years of Help Desk/Desktop Support experience
- 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong technical proficiency supporting both Windows and Apple desktop environments
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure, and VPN connectivity
- Experience supporting audiovisual and conferencing technology
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve moderately to highly complex technical problems
- Experience managing projects and coordinating with cross-functional IT teams
- Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical employees
- Ability to prioritize multiple issues and maintain a high level of customer service in a fast-paced support environment
- Availability for weekend and on-call support as required
