Are you passionate about working with young children and making a lasting impact in your community? Join our team as a Youth Enrichment Instructor and help shape the minds and hearts of children ages 2 to 5 through fun, hands-on learning experiences. 
 
From Mini Chefs to Silly Science, Gym Jam, and Little Cake Decorators, you’ll lead engaging enrichment programs that spark creativity, curiosity, and confidence. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values growth play and meaningful connections with families. 
 
This is a part-time position held at Fitzmorris Elementary School, perfect for those looking to make a difference while maintaining flexibility. Programs typically run Tue.-Sat. 8:30 am-12 pm, though schedules may vary from week to week.
 
What You’ll Do 

  • Create a safe inclusive and joyful environment where children feel supported and excited to learn. 
  • Lead and adapt to a variety of enrichment activities that promote developmentally appropriate learning through play. 
  • Build strong relationships with children families and fellow staff through positive communication and collaboration. 
  • Prepare and organize lesson plans, materials, and activities that inspire imagination and exploration. 
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure program areas are clean organized and welcoming. 
  • Participate in team meetings and special events that celebrate our community and mission.

  • Must be at least 18 years old. 
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with young children and creating enriching, memorable experiences. 
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to connect with both children and adults. 
  • Thrive in a collaborative and energetic team environment. 
  • Show commitment to child safety and adhere to all program policies and procedures. 
  • Be able to meet the physical requirements of the role and complete Mandated Reporter Training. 
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • College coursework or professional experience in early childhood education, recreation, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Prior experience leading or assisting in childcare, educational, or recreational programs for children ages 2–5 is highly desirable. 
  • Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings. 
  • Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision.
  • Ability to climb, crawl, or maneuver in tight spaces to complete maintenance or activity-related tasks.
  • Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.
  • Ability to maintain balance and coordination while assisting with physical activities or working on uneven terrain.
  • Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.
  • Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work most of the day on your feet, performing both active supervision and hands-on tasks.
