Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities
This position helps execute community events such as Touch-a-Truck, Earth Beyond the Stars, Kids’ TRYathlon, Pitch, Ninja Fest, and more! The Special Events Aide assists with event preparation, setup, and takedown, and provides on-site coordination and vendor support, with a primary focus on day-of-event operations. Events primarily occur Wednesday through Sunday evenings and work hours are dependent on program schedules.
• Support event logistics, including venue setup, registration, signage, and volunteer management.• Prepare and maintain event materials, and access inventory levels before and after events.• Provide on-site support during events, including guest check-in, coordination of activities, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

- Support marketing and outreach efforts, including social media posts, flyers, and community engagement.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the success of the events team.
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- No previous experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various locations on time.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Education and Experience
- No specific education requirements; all experience levels welcome.
- Experience in recreation or leisure services preferred
- Experience coordinating or supervising special events preferred.
Work Environment
- Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.
- Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
- Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
- Able to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.
- Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
- Able to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
