A Long Island Company is looking for an Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to support our growing business. Our company is a leader in the world-wide Motion Control industry. Candidate must be self-motivated & detail-oriented. We are looking for a hands-on, energetic person who enjoys working on a variety of projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to manage daily accounting transactions, ensure accurate financial records, and support the overall financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on time
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
- Apply customer payments and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain AR aging reports and assist with collections
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing questions
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process vendor invoices and ensure proper approvals
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts
- Prepare and process payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized and accurate AP records
General Accounting Duties:
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (College degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks preferred
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
