The behavior health technician (BHT) is an integral part of the treatment team that provides specialized services in a 1:1 setting with children who present with a variety of disorders in the home, community, and school settings under the guidance of a licensed behavior specialist or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BC-ABA/BCBA). This position is not telehealth eligible.

Required Education, experience, and skills we are looking for.

· Minimum a high school diploma or GED (Required).

· 18 years of age or older (Required).

· Must provide and pass mandatory clearances (Childline Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history clearances)

· Completion of 40 hours of RBT training within 90 days of hire.

Desirable skills and experience we are looking for.

· Associate or bachelor's degree (Optional).

· RBT/BCAT/ or BCaBA Certification (Optional).

· Six months or more experience providing ABA services (optional).

· Completed First Aid/CPR for toddlers and children required within 30 days of hire from an accredited institution (e.g., ARC, AHA).

· Valid and reliable mode of transportation.

· Knowledge and proficiency in how to use modern technology such as a personal computer, iPad, or tablets preferred.

· Knowledge and proficiency to use Microsoft Office Suite/365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Form, Outlook, etc.) preferred.

· Types 40 words per minute (20 words per minute shorthand) with 80% accuracy preferred.

Responsibilities

The behavior technician will…

· Attend mandatory all mandatory IBHS supervision depending on hours worked including 1 hour of individual face-to-face supervision per month.

· Work one on one with clients aged between 3 and 20 years with axis-I mental health diagnoses or related conditions (e.g., ADHD, autism, IDD).

· Utilize evidence-based strategies as prescribed by a licensed clinician to help the individual learn replacement skills for improving communication, self-help behaviors, and develop appropriate social and play skills by following treatment plan goals as prescribed by their clinical supervisor (BC-ABA/BCBA).

· Be proactive with their client to create opportunities to keep their client engaged.

· Collect data on goals based on continuous and/or discontinuous methods of recording (frequency, duration, rate, whole/partial interval, etc.).

· Complete session notes by the end of each session.

· Assist in the development of instructional materials as requested.

· Utilize preference assessments to keep informed of client motivation.

· Communicate using approved methods with the clinical supervisor, parents, and other external stakeholders when necessary (e.g., BHT/client cancellations).

· Actively and professionally respond to feedback delivered by the Clinical Supervisor and management team.

· Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Department of Children and Youth Services via Childline within 24 hours.

· File incident reports for any instance of injury to self or others during treatment hours within 24 hours.

· Willing to work across various settings (home, community, and school). Session lengths vary depending on the location of service.

· Attend flexible instruction days if school is cancelled.
